Biography

Neda began studying painting through private classes while in school, driven by a deep passion for artistic expression. Her art education is primarily self-directed, complemented by various workshops and classes focused on drawing and oil painting. She draws inspiration from the art and craft of Indigenous and tribal peoples, reflecting their profound connection to nature. Neda believes that art is a transformative language—one that invites us to see the world without boundaries or filters. To her, art is like a spring flowing gently down a mountain, quenching the thirst of the land and the soul alike.

Neda’s technique is influenced by the simple yet intricate art of tribal carpet weaving. She reinterprets traditional geometric patterns into modern abstract expressions. Her deepest inspiration, however, comes from the image of a tribal woman at the loom—a symbol of strength, creativity, and connection. Nature sets the tone for each of her pieces, as her color choices follow the rhythm of day and night, of earth, water, and sky. Her art transcends geography, grounded in the belief that nature is a refuge for the tranquil heart.

Although her formal education is in engineering and management, Neda has pursued courses in drawing and sculpture to expand her artistic foundation. Her growth as an artist has also been enriched through her involvement with museums—as both an artist and a volunteer at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) and the Gardiner Museum in Toronto—where she shares her expertise in international contemporary art and business to educate and inspire gallery visitors.

She has directed various exhibitions internationally, and her artworks have been collected by private collectors. She is currently based in Toronto, where her practice is dedicated to elevating abstract art to a new level of expression. Her approach to abstraction follows light and geometry, much like traditional carpet weaving with rich textures, while also incorporating elements of nature through simultaneously inspired patterns.
